Switch panel, form, fit and function
Outlaying 10’s if not 100’s of thousands on tools for injection molding can be a bit nerve racking, insuring your design is correct before proceeding with tool making can save you thousands. By 3d printing a prototype you can test the part for form, fit and function and easily make changes without the huge outlay.
This is exactly how Clone helped Connex Wire, an ever expanding electrical specialist. After first communication and discussion around the switch panels desired use and finish the files were printed, vapour polished which adds a glossy molded look and the panel covers painted to match the real thing. At around $200 for two prototypes, it was money well spent.
